A 30-Day Practice Plan

Graduation, page 3 of 5. A one-minute read.

Want some structure? Here's a month of practice to cement everything you've learned. Aim for about 30 to 60 minutes a day. Missing a day is fine. Giving up is not.

WeekFocusDaily tasks
Week 1The fundamentalsSolve one small coding challenge a day (see the sites below). Redo three homework problems from this book without looking at the answers.
Week 2Functions, arrays and objectsRebuild the Grade 8 report card generator from memory. Then write ten functions that use map, filter and reduce on a list of your own (books, players, songs).
Week 3The DOM and eventsBuild one tiny interactive page every day: a counter, a color picker, a character counter, a dice roller, a tip calculator, a stopwatch, a random quote generator.
Week 4Your own projectPlan and build your Final Project from Senior year. Put it on GitHub. Host it online. Show it to three people.

Reading is step one
