On iPhone or iPad
In Safari
- Open curlyscript.com in Safari.
- Tap the ••• button next to the address bar, then tap Share. On older iPhones, tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen: a square with an arrow pointing up.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Leave Open as Web App switched on, and tap Add. If you don’t see that switch, just tap Add.
Using Chrome on your iPhone? Tap the Share button in the address bar, then Add to Home Screen.
On Android
In Chrome
- Open curlyscript.com in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ button at the top right.
- Tap Add to Home screen. On some phones it says Install app.
- Tap Install. If Chrome asks whether to install the app or create a shortcut, choose the app.
Using Samsung Internet? Tap the menu button at the bottom right, then Add page to, then Home screen. In other browsers, look in the menu for Add to Home screen or Install.
Once it’s on your home screen
- How do I open it?
- Tap the CurlyScript icon, the yellow one with Professor Curly on it. It opens full screen, straight to your map, without the browser’s address bar.
- Is my progress still there?
- On Android, yes: it’s the same progress you have in Chrome. On iPhone, the home screen app keeps its own progress, separate from Safari, so it’s best to add it before you start. Already started in Safari? If you’re 13 or over, make a free account in Safari, then log in to it in the home screen app, and everything comes with you.
- Does it work without the internet?
- Yes. Once you’ve opened it, the lessons, the Dojo and the Code Lab keep working on a plane or in a tunnel.
- Is this the app from the App Store or Google Play?
- Not yet. Android and iPhone apps are on the way. This is the same CurlyScript as the website, and it’s free.
- How do I take it off my home screen?
- Press and hold the icon, then tap Remove or Delete, like any other app.
Not on your phone right now?
